The First Days of School

I really enjoyed the first few days back at school! I love getting back into a routine. Having a fresh slate, coupled with a few years of experience. The students are so great. We have had a little opposition from older students regarding the changes that have taken place at Mesquite in the Choir Program. But, overall, it couldn't be better! I love being able to teach these teenagers to know their music, but to also really FEEL the music. Let it be part of them. It's an amazing process!

I ran into an old friend from college at Kohls on Tuesday, as I was out "school" shopping. I hope I get to run into him again... We met in our accounting class (which I could never really wrap my brain around) but he always understood and would help me. We also had an Economics class that was brutal to sit through. The teacher lectured all the time. He had a thick Middle-Eastern accent, and so it was hard to understand him AND the concepts he was trying to teach us. My friend helped me in that class too. He always had a smile on his face and asked me and others around him how we were doing. Totally Selfless...
